In a scene reminiscent of a bad ‘50s sci-fi flick, the Museum of Natural History had some inflatible insect “rides” on the Mall. The obelisk in the background is (duh) the Washington Monument. Yet another monument in DC to a Virginia boy.

On a side note, I really don’t get how so many people think of the Washington Monument as a huge phallus. By the same token, I don't imagine the domes of the Capitol or the Jefferson Memorial to be huge breasts. DC is the epicenter of political power for the U.S., but really.

what if you see a huge phallus AND breasts?

not only is it an epicenter-- it's a sexy epicenter.
